REMTP 2027: registration opens for the 9th edition in Dakar

REMTP 2027 — 28 and 29 January 2027, Noom Hotel, Dakar, Senegal. Mobilising more capital, financing sustainably. A new ambition for the Government Securities Market?

On 28 and 29 January 2027, the Rencontres du Marché des Titres Publics (REMTP) will bring together regional financial market participants to discuss the challenges shared by the member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) and investors.

Registration is open at remtp.umoatitres.org.

Over two days (28 and 29 January 2027 at the Noom Hotel in Dakar), states, institutions, investors, market intermediaries and journalists specialising in economic and financial affairs will discuss the theme: “Mobilising more, financing sustainably: what new ambition for the Government Securities Market?”

The discussions will explore issues relating to the sustainable mobilisation of resources to finance development in the Union’s member countries.

Broadening the investor base

Broadening the investor base will be central to the discussions. Participants will examine the role of insurers, pension funds and asset managers, as well as the conditions for greater participation by individual investors, the diaspora and international investors in regional financial market activities.

Discussions will also address the development of the secondary market. Securities liquidity, the quality of quotations and transparency of information will be considered as ways to strengthen market functioning and respond to investors’ expectations.

Connecting long-term financing with environmental and social priorities

REMTP 2027 will address two dimensions of sustainable financing: mobilising resources over longer time horizons while managing refinancing risk, and developing instruments that can support environmental and social priorities.

Transparency, predictability of issuance and the quality of professional practices will be common threads throughout the discussions.

Session formats will include panels, masterclasses, country conversations and B2B meetings, with participation in person and online. Recommendations arising from the discussions will inform the REMTP 2027 White Paper.
